Moving past the middle of March and the sun is showing quite a bit more intensity. Always desirable to see that shining orb.
Greenhouse is in action and the starts for fresh vegetables are doing well. Next is getting out the outside furniture so that guests can enjoy the spring sunshine and breezes in the garden and on the front porch. Come visit!

Well over halfway through the month of August. Time to consider what the summer has held so far and what we want to have happen before fall and harvest activities begin. It has been a very pleasant and successful summer for Martha's Vineyard West. The guests have been delightful, engaged, interesting and interested. The days have been long and lovely and the heat significant but with few exceptions, not oppressive.

Mid-July always seems like the 'center of the summer'. Our weather bears that out and the kinds of activity in Mcminnville supports that notion as well. We are ready for International Pinot Noir Celebrations (IPNC) that starts next week. IPNC sees a large number of Pinot noir enthusiasts visit the region. Seminars, trips to vineyards, special pouring of wonderful wines and great dinners prepared for participants by outstanding local chefs all serve to make the four days wonderful and magical.

the great American holiday started with 'when in the course of human events' and emphasizing 'we the people' has been duly celebrated in the Willamette Valley. It was a beautiful day and the events of the day were fun and satisfying. Visits to see a nearby town's parade, lunch on the rooftop of Hotel Oregon, picking cherries for cherry pie from the trees at Martha's Vineyard West were all part of the action. The parade was in nearby St.

We are already at the last weekend in June. It is amazing how quickly time flies during the long summer days and evenings. MVW is looking forward to out of town visitors for Friday and Saturday. They are hoping for beautiful weather and I am hoping that the Valley delivers on that count. These guests are focused on Vista Hills Uncommon Wine Festival that will be held on Saturday at the Treehouse tasting room. A really nice event and the opportunity to try some smaller producers from the area.
